Historic Trophies get a face-lift

OK, technically, for one just their base has been lifted, but you get the point... Thanks to the hard work of Susan Kennedy, The Liddiard Trophy and the Patricia O'Connor Cup have had work done to prepare them for the start of the new cross country season and this year's 76th running of the Liddiard event on 2nd November, at Fryent Park.

After a lot of work finding the right people to do it, The Patricia O'Connor cup has been engraved with its name, and a dedication plaque and list of winners have been added. At the centre of the dedication a vintage Liddiard medal has been set.

At the same time The Liddiard trophy has had a new base fitted in order to allow the long list of winners to continue growing so it can serve as a proper record of all those who have not just run the course, but beaten it too. I'm sure you'll agree that the trophies have been worked on at a standard befitting the historical significance, and love and pride the club has of both cups. Many thanks to Susan for the time she's put into giving the both trophies the new lease of life that they deserve. The big question now is whether or not Serpentine can retain both titles...
