Welcome to the Juniors section of Queen's Park Harriers
Did you know that we have a thriving Juniors section for children aged eight (school year four) and above? Would you like your child to get involved, get fit, have fun and be part of a competing team?
On this page you'll find some useful information about what we offer in our Juniors programme. If you’d like to get involved or want to know more, please email Patricia, our head of juniors, at firstname.lastname@example.org
When we train
Our young athletes train regularly and commit to representing the club in various leagues and competitions.
We run two sessions per week for children. Both take place on Thursday evenings at the Willesden Sports Centre on the track.
We train all year round and it’s fun. All you need is a pair of trainers and a water bottle!
This session is for those who are keen and starting out, but preferably with some athletic experience. Children have to be at least aged eight and in school year four to attend.
This session is for more advanced and committed athletes.
Our young athletes train regularly and commit to representing the club in various leagues and competitions. This covers Saturday cross country events in the winter (be prepared for mud!) and Saturday track-based athletics. We also compete in Summer League events, which are held on Sundays.
Want to know more?
Queen's Park junior parkrun is a great way to get a taste of what we are about.
You and your child can take part and meet the coaches and Queen's Park Harriers' members who regularly use parkrun as an additional training session.
Our Juniors' section is popular! We have a waiting list, so please get in touch if you'd like your child to join us.
We prioritise children of adult members, siblings of existing junior members and regulars at either Gladstone parkrun or Queen's Park junior parkrun. The cost is £45 for the term, usually 12 weeks.
