Road Race Series

Welcome to the QPH Road Race Series 2026!

Every year, QPH holds a Road Race Series (RRS): a collection of races chosen to encourage a big club turnout, build team spirit, and create plenty of opportunities for fun and friendly competition if that's your vibe. The more Hoops on the start line, the greater the sense of community in a race environment, the better our chances for team medals, and the more laughs and memories shared along the way.

Middlesex County races and those organised by local running clubs are prioritised, supporting club and legacy events as much as possible, and race distances range from 1 mile to half marathon. We've added some exciting new options this year: fresh 5ks, new 10ks and a 10 miler that shares its name with both a vegetable and a pub!

You can enter as many or as few races as you like. If you want to submit your results, you’ll be in with a chance to win some coveted QPH merch! Prize categories include:

  • Highest average age grade %* (men and women)

  • Best single performance by age grading (men and women)

  • Additional fun categories to be announced before the Christmas party.
Past prizes have included “Full House of Distances” and “Most Races Finished” – so everyone has a chance to win.

But, prizes aside, the real goal is getting lots of Hoops together on the start line and enjoying the day, whether you’re racing or cheering. With over 50 QPH runners taking part in recent years, the Fred Hughes 10 Mile kicks off the series and is always a highlight – great running, great support, and legendary tea and cakes afterwards.

We hope these tried-and-tested races inspire you to join in. They’re chosen for their excellent organisation, logistics, and proximity to pubs and cake (priorities, right?). If you love seeing a sea of Hoops at the start, followed by coffee and a chat with teammates, or if you’re looking to try a race and aren’t sure where to start, the Road Race Series is for you.

Join the WhatsApp group today and be part of the fun!

*P.S. Age grading is a way to compare performances fairly across ages. For example, running 5K in 30 minutes is much harder for the average 60-year-old than for the average 18-year-old – so the older runner would score a higher age grade for the same time.
